I just read on the bump.com about little Gibbs. Mikelle just got home from her appointment and I wanted to read a little more about where they’re at.
Your Pregnancy: Week 37
Today brings two beautiful words: full-term. Now, whenever baby’s born, he’s likely to thrive. Also thriving? Your nesting instincts, which are behind those sudden urges to bake, clean, or embroider a onesie. (Feminists, take your issue up with nature, not with us.)
Seriously! They had this picture there, as well.
That made me laugh out loud. I mean everyone thinks they have a watermelon in there by this time, and they actually said it!
Baby’s now the size of a watermelon!
Your full-term (yay!) baby is gaining about 1/2 ounce a day and getting his first sticky poop (called meconium) ready. He’s also brushing up on skills for the outside world: blinking, sucking, inhaling, exhaling, and gripping (it’s getting strong!).
Mikelle and I just watched Back Up Plan with Jenifer Lopez last weekend when she was here and I watched it again this morning. F.u.n.n.y! I nearly p**d during the scene of the water birth! Oh my heck!
I’m shooting for 10-01-10. Such a cool date. But then I realize I have absolutely nothing to do with the date. I’m just ready to take off on a minute’s notice and drive like heck to get there. I hope I can be the kind of mother-in-law who kind of stays in the waiting room and waits to hear that Gibbs is safely here and that mother and son are doing well. And that new Dad has survived, too. But I’m afraid I might muscle my way in there and hide in a corner so I can see the whole thing happening from start to finish.
Logan, I promise to not get in the way! And you can hold him as much as you want!
Kind of crazy to think my baby’s all grown up having a baby of her own!
