going g.r.e.e.n.

You know me. Always going from one extreme to the other. Either totally gung-ho or pathetically blasé. Either can’t-get-enough-of-it, or sick-to-death-of-it! Either talking your ear off about it or sulking in my room about it. Either totally on fire about it or totally put out about it. Either dancing on the ceiling about it or laying in a heap about it. OK. Enough.

Yup. That’s me.

Right now I’m gung-ho for GREEN! The Amazing Liz taught the Ball Bomb exercise and the Green Drink class last Saturday and now I’m all about GREEN.

I watched with intrigue as she blended inordinate amounts of disgusting green things in her Vita Mix. Things like beet greens, kale, chard, spinach. OK, I love spinach. Then she added a titch of orange juice, a lime [rind and all] some frozen strawberries and a banana.

Voilà!

Delish. Healthy. Filling.

This is my fourth day of green. I’ve had at least a quart for four days in a row! Can you believe it?

I feel lighter, younger, stronger, more committed, prettier [just kidding about that one!] Most of my cravings are gone! G.o.n.e! I’m not trashing-out on junk food. I’m feeling pretty settled in the evening. For instance, I’ve had some granola and eggs and wheat bread. Pretty good, eh?

Here’s the whole green process

2 C cold water
2 T OJ concentrate
2 handfuls of rinsed spinach
2 T flax seed [Winco’s bulk section!]

Blend on high for 2 minutes

Add in 2-3 stems of greens, rinsed, [turnip, beet, kale, etc.]

Mix the dickens out of it!

Add a frozen banana, strawberries, a half-lime [with the ends cut off] a handful of ice.

Mix some more! Pour into an iced cup and sip away!

Keep a box of tissue handy for the happy tears that are streaming down your cheeks! It’s a delightfully bright and cheerful drink.]

MiX iT uP by using carrots, pineapple, blueberries. Just make sure you have about 60% of it green and 40% fruit. [Or seriously, do half and half at first if you like.] [Do yourself a favor and don’t add any sugar! Why ruin a good thing?]

There is a book called GREEN that explains this whole theory of thought that I’m eager to find. This isn’t the one I’m looking for, but you get the picture. I Googled it and, seriously, there were over ten thousand images!

I even have green earrings and a green sweater on this morning. Seriously! [Hey, you know that’s just a coincidence, right?] [I’m not that nuts!]

Oh. Stop. She says it IS the right book! YAY! Out of ten thousand images I somehow got the right one. It was just meant to be!

    Hilarious and waaaayyyy to goooooooo! I am so glad you let that class change you! I LOOOOOOVVVVE it my self. That green smoothies diet book you have a pic of IS the one I had, still may not be the one you’re looking for but it does have 50 recipes and some great convincing data. I can’t believe how much my body loves me when I’m in the 1 quart club v.s. when i’m not. You are a delight! Thank you for coming to my classes- our numbers were few but look! They were totally worth while! To your health (or your junk food addiction depending on the day right? We are soul sisters that way:) Liz
