Day five of Green Drinking.

Finally lost two pounds! Yup two miserable pesky, sticky, prickly pounds that have been glued to me for months! Months, I say!

So, I’m not really an expert with this green stuff yet, but I sure am learning a few things. I’d like to share, just in case you are contemplating the possibility of adding green drinks to your life.

I bet the first thing you might be wondering is where all this green stuff goes. [Am I close?] Well, what goes in does come out! And, yes, it has had an effect on what comes out. It’s a new color for me! Sort of somewhere between avocado and olive.

Just in case you were wondering.

I also have had a big change in the dishes department. I’ve not had a plate, pan, bowl or silverware to wash. But I can’t keep up with the smoothie containers. I have all these Camelbak water thingies I’ve not used for a while. I have stainless-steel hydration units and thermal bottles and expensive insulated hiking thingamabobs that have just been taking up a whole shelf in my plastics cupboard. Now, I have anywhere from 3 – 5 in the dishwasher at a time. And another 2-3 in the fridge or freezer. Oh, and one’s in the car.

And I’ve been using Spray and Wash more regularly because, how can I say this, I’m a sloppy sipper! I don’t really get my lips firmly planted around the big chunky plastic straws that come with these containers and I sometimes drool. Spray and Wash works wonderfully well, and I don’t have a stain to prove it!

The biggest difference is in my cravings! What cravings?

I don’t know how long that will last but I’m all for it! My cravings have made me miserable for years! They’ve pretty much put a half-Nelson on any long-term weight loss I’ve managed. [Yes I actually did have to look that up. I Googled names of wrestling holds.][I love Google!]

Last, but not least, it has cut way down on my shopping! Wow, I pretty much stick in the produce aisle! I’ve used up my carrots, spinach, bananas, strawberries. I’ve used some blueberries that I had given up on. I’ve cleaned out the fridge! I’ve saved money.

Seriously, I hope I’m not speaking prematurely. I hope this lasts for another week or two.

Off to buy a bottle brush!

Parsley? I never even thought of parsley. Fresh or canned pineapple? Everything I’ve read this weeks says to change around all the greens and fruits regularly so that you don’t get sick of it, so I’ll give it a try.

Parsley is super fabulous – this green smoothie gives tons of energy! Food is always better if it is fresh, but if you don’t have fresh pineapple, used canned. A half can of pineapple, a handful of parsley and the rest of your machine with ice and water…yumm!

I actually just got back from Benedict’s and they didn’t have any parsley! I got fresh spinach and kale and a mango! Heading to WM later today after I get things done around here. Oh, and sprouts.
