Wouldn’t ya know it . . . the very day I finally get to 142 is the very day that Mr. Holmstrom [amazing history teacher and football coach] brings his wife’s famous caramels all wrapped up merrily and bright and leaves a huge package of them on my desk!

Wouldn’t ya know . . . the very day I finally get to 142 is the very evening of hubby’s legendary Christmas work party at “Goin’ South” Restaurant and Catering. Baked, then deep fried whole potatoes [seriously!] chicken, pulled pork and brisket, shrimp, cheesy-cauliflower soup, five-inch-tall cheese cake with raspberry sauce and dark chocolate curls on top. Yikes. I could have skipped dinner and eaten three of those. Probably a thousand calories each, easy.

What’s the spouse of the most senior supervisor to do? I did partake!

Wouldn’t ya know it, I’m no longer 142. Up three pounds. But I’m taking care of it today. Exercising, and having an apple day. I don’t know if that works, but Camille tried it and it worked wonders for her, so I’m having a Gala right now.

No Costco response. I have such a great gift I want to get them. Apple day is six apples. That’s it! So far I’ve had three. I hope to be back to 142 by morning. If not, I’ll just have my own new opinion of apple day. I think it’s actually for plateau.

I have costco – but am not coming out there till the day after Christmas. My parents also have it and would be happy to pick up whatever, I’m sure. So – how did the apple day go?

Tami — got it covered. Jessica got it for me. . . . The apple day was interesting! I wasn’t the slightest bit hungry. And I got most of that back off in a couple of days.
